1953 - 2013 Honouring Portuguese Pioneers

When the first wave of (official) Portuguese immigrants landed in Canada on May 13, 1953, the world was a different place. These Luso Pioneers were willing to leave the hardships of a Portuguese dictatorship to venture into the unknown and take a chance at a better future. The brighter future came, eventually… but not without its share of hardships—language barriers, harsh winters and even harsher jobs is what took over their lives.

In the 70 years since that first journey, the descendants of those first pioneers have gone on to greatness across this great land, and on May 13 and 14 of 2023, we are taking the opportunity to celebrate them and to celebrate our heritage and integration into Canada.

As an essential member of our community, we invite you to be a part of our festivities. We have great opportunities for you to showcase your business at this monumental event!.
